Christian Leadership: Family Integrated Churches End Age Segregation and Youth Groups

Don’t look for children’s Sunday school classes at Ridgewood Church in Port Arthur, Texas. And forget about scavenger hunts and water park trips: the youth ministry is no more. Sound like a dying church?

No, it’s a family-integrated church, whose leaders wanted parents — rather than Sunday school teachers and youth ministers — to spiritually train their children.

In “Divided,” a controversial video circulating online and a related book called “A Weed in the Church,” the movement’s leaders warn that “unbiblical” age-segregated activities can lead youth away from the church.

184167_10150141874050336_746515335_8485706_5208566_n[1]                                         Income From Online Ministry”

                                          – led by Bishop James Brown

Topic Description:  Many Pastors and Bible Teachers create

terrific teaching material every week that never sees the light of day again.

The internet provides a unique platform to create materials that can be distributed to a global audience. If you would ever sell a Christian book in a book store, then why not create materials for sale online? It's fun, easy and can be on the market for less than $20. Pastors who struggle to make sure the bills are paid, can use these resources to fund their ministry and home.

Brief Bio:  Bishop James I Feel God Brown, also known as, “The Internet’s Favorite Pastor” is widely considered one of the web’s leading ministry and marketing consultants. He specializes in teaching the fundamentals of web ministry and business.

His common sense approach to using the Internet for Ministry and Business has made him an in-demand trainer, publisher, and listening ear. He has helped hundreds and hundreds of people establish and grow online ministries and businesses since 2001, and has created *numerous best-selling internet bible studies and marketing courses*.

Along with his partner for life Pastor Linda Brown the powerful duo minister to the “up and out”, as well as, “the down and out”.  Their ministry is quite diverse but has a firm grounding on the Word of God and “the demonstration of the Spirit and Power”. They believe the churches mission statement should mirror Jesus’: to preach, heal, deliver, recover, and empower. Bishop is a respected community leader and organizer, in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, having served as an Assistant Event Coordinator for Promise Keepers and Convoy of Hope, both serving thousands.

In addition to being a powerful preacher and teacher, he is known as a prolific writer. His columns and articles are widely distributed on the internet and many print publications. He has also been instrumental in developing or producing several books by other pastors who were seeking to expand their ministries.

Believing that the church must be innovative and creative in order to reach this end time generation, Bishop Brown is active in utilizing and implementing technology for the spread of the Gospel. Having attended Michigan State University, he applies his expertise as a software engineer for the Kingdom of God. From internet web sites to CD duplication to print publications, Bishop Brown stands at the forefront of technological innovation for the Kingdom of God.

When he’s not working, Bishop is found spending time with his family (lovely wife Linda, Sons James and Todd, Daughter Tiffany, Grandsons Julian, Ralph, Hayden, and Noah, and Granddaughters Toddrianna and Morgan) and friends, attending his local church, and visiting yard sales.

He has a daily weekday devotional called the “Morning Encourager” available by text message, Twitter, and Facebook

Church Leadership: What works for our teens in church? What can we do about reaching them?

I saw this posting on the churchemarketingsucks.com website and I thought it was just plain GREAT!

We continue to miss the mark with young adults and teens in church, and there are a number of reasons why.

Ty, in the article below, clearly articulates why many of the approaches, we think should work, don't work.

I want my grandchildren in the Kingdom period! If I have to change my approach to reach them, so be it.

I just CANNOT and WILL NOT change the message. That position is non-negotiable and non-adjustable.

How do you feel about what Ty has to say?

Are you offended or motivated? Do you think he is right?

Tell us what you think after your read his plea.

In Him,
JMb <><

A Teenager’s Plea: Don’t Suck

by Ty Buckingham

There are some things that just get to me.

When I leave the Taco Bell drive through knowing, without even looking into the bag, that they have messed up my order.

I certainly don’t like it when I end up shaking hands and it was supposed to be a fist bump. That’s just awkward.

Those are little.

What seriously gets to me is when there is a lack in how the church talks to us. Especially as a teenager in high school, I couldn’t feel more neglected by the church at times.

Christian Leadership: Facebook, YouTube Help Extend ‘Power of Personal Invitation’ For Back To Church Sunday

National Back To Church Sunday on Sept. 18 Expands to More Than 7300 Congregations in Third Year

VISTA, Calif., Sept. 12, 2011 /Christian Newswire/ — Thousands of churches across the country are using social media, electronic invitations and "bounce houses" – and some are even overcoming great loss – as they gear up to draw family, friends, neighbors and co-workers to National Back To Church Sunday on Sept. 18.

More than 7,300 churches representing 34 denominations are participating in this third annual nationwide effort to reach out to the unchurched in their communities. Congregations have extended more than 1 million invitations so far, as the big day approaches.

"This cross-denominational outreach is about reigniting the power of personal invitation," said Philip Nation, national spokesman for National Back To Church Sunday. "We're delighted to see the number of churches participating has nearly doubled compared with last year. We anticipate more Americans than ever will rediscover the joy of churchgoing through this grassroots movement."
